We all agree that we have only one Earth and we must take care of it. But as parents we must also teach our little ones to love it because Earth is their home. Earth Day is a special day to share different ideas of how we can show some love to our beautiful planet. At home, we have been making some crafts, and even some Earth Day cookies! Happy Earth Day!
If you have never painted with acrylic paint, paint pouring is perfect for beginners. I love making this type of art with my little kids. It is easy and fast to make. All you need is canvas, acrylic pouring paint, varnish, a brush, paper or plastic cups, gloves, and a cover to protect your surface.
So you start by pouring a coat of white paint on your canvas. You can evenly spread it with a brush. Then, in a cup, pour the colors that you would like to use in your piece. I always start with white, and add the other colors in layers. Next, gently pour the colors on top of your canvas. You can do this in many different ways as you like. They are no mistakes! Finally, just rock your paint gently from one side to the other, from the top to the bottom, until the paint moves in the wave patterns that you like. Let it dry for about two days before applying your varnish.
My 5 year old enjoying the easy technique.
Below are all the the materials I like to use (you can click on them to purchase them):
So my mom used to make this recipe for me as a child. I used to love these Jell-O Easter Eggs, and I still do! The recipe is very easy and inexpensive. All you need is to empty about a dozen eggs by removing the insides through a very small hole, wash them, and fill them with Jell-O. After cooling them, gently crack them around, run them through hot water for about 2 seconds, and peel them.
You can also use different layers of Jell-O to make stripe designs. It will take a little longer between cooling layers to add the new ones, but if you had the time go for it!
The aloe vera plant is an amazing skin food. It is packed with skin healing and anti-inflamatory properties, which makes it my favorite skin product. All you need to do is get your hands on one aloe vera leaf and extract the gel from it. The process is very simple. Just take your leaf and wash it, peel it, dice it, and store it in the fridge.
I like to squeeze a small aloe cube on my palm and then spread the gel all over my face after cleaning and toning. There is no need to wash it off as it dries fairly quick. It leaves your face smooth and lightly moisturized. It is the best face primer I have found, plus it is completely natural. You can use it everyday to keep your complexion smooth and clear.
I am completely in love of the Australian swimsuit line Triangl. I saw them for the first time on Instagram, and right after I saw them again on the cover of Women’s Health magazine worn by Britney Spears.
These swimsuits are made of neoprene bright colors. They are indeed very unique, and so far you can only get them online at northamerica.triangl.com
This is the most versatile mini pouch I have found. It is extremely cute, affordable, durable, and useful!
I own a couple of them in different colors, and I use them as coin purses, to store pony tails and hair clips, to carry jewelry when traveling, and even to pack my headphones so they are never getting tangled inside my purse.
